Director of Sales & Operations
The Director of Sales and Operations is responsible for driving revenue through strategic sales efforts while ensuring efficient hotel operations that align with the Fairfield by Marriott brand. This dual-role leader works closely with the General Manager to achieve occupancy and profitability goals, maintain exceptional guest service standards, and oversee daily functions across departments.
What will you do?
- Develop and execute property-specific sales strategies to attract corporate, group, and transient business
- Conduct regular sales calls, build local relationships, and represent the hotel at industry events and networking functions
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, maintain key client relationships, and grow market share
- Monitor sales performance metrics and prepare regular reports on booking pace, lead conversion, and revenue goals
- Manage OTA and brand-related channels to optimize rates, inventory, and promotions
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance operations
- Ensure brand standards, service quality, and cleanliness expectations are consistently met
- Support daily operations and staff performance through coaching, scheduling, and hands-on leadership
- Address guest concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction and loyalty
- Help manage budgets, control costs, and ensure financial targets are met
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional guest service and operational excellence
- Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and professional development
- Collaborate with department heads to improve efficiency, resolve challenges, and exceed performance expectations
About You:
- 3+ years of sales experience in the hospitality industry; operations experience strongly preferred
- Proven success in revenue generation, sales strategy, and account management
- Knowledge of Marriott brand systems (e.g., MARSHA, CI/TY, SalesPro, FOSSE) a plus
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Flexible schedule availability, including occasional evenings, weekends, or travel as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred
- Must have flexibility to work 1-2 mornings shifts per week, including weekends and holidays as needed
