General Manager
We are seeking a results-driven and hands-on General Manager to lead the daily operations of our hotel, ensuring excellence in guest satisfaction, team performance, financial results, and property standards. This role is a key leadership position responsible for executing strategic initiatives, upholding brand and operational standards, and fostering a high-performing team culture. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, operationally focused, and committed to delivering top-line growth and bottom-line profitability.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee all daily hotel operations, ensuring smooth functioning of all departments.
- Hire, train, manage, and evaluate department heads and team members.
- Drive guest satisfaction through quality assurance and direct guest interaction.
- Maintain the property’s physical condition and enforce brand standards.
- Develop and manage budgets, control expenses, and monitor payroll costs.
- Analyze and respond to daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
- Collaborate with the Regional Director and Ownership on strategic goals.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, legal, and brand standards.
- Handle and resolve escalated guest concerns promptly and professionally.
- Support and supervise front desk operations as needed.
- Ensure timely completion of financial and operational reports and audits.
- Facilitate communication across departments and with hotel ownership.
- Lead sales efforts and contribute to local marketing and community engagement.
- Conduct regular staff meetings, property inspections, and performance reviews.
- Champion a positive, inclusive, and engaged workplace culture.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Regional Director or Ownership.
About You:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of hotel management or supervisory experience.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to build and motivate effective teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with hotel management systems (PMS, POS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Flexible availability including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Must follow and enforce Bucyrus Lodging policies and procedures.
