Job Description
General Manager
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of hotel operations at the Holiday Inn Columbia East, MO. This includes managing day-to-day operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, driving profitability, and leading all departments with a focus on operational excellence, brand standards, employee engagement, and financial performance
What You’ll Do:
- Direct the daily operations of all hotel departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, and Sales.
- Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional service standards in alignment with IHG brand expectations.
- Monitor and enhance quality assurance scores through guest satisfaction and service recovery.
- Prepare and manage the hotel's annual budget and forecast.
- Monitor and control expenses while maximizing room revenue, occupancy, and RevPAR.
- Collaborate with the Sales team to develop and execute strategic plans to grow market share.
- Recruit, train, motivate, and develop department heads and hotel staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, respect, and high performance.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and performance reviews.
- Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal laws and brand requirements.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and employees.
- Oversee proper licensing, certifications, and health & safety protocols.
- Act as the primary liaison with hotel ownership and Blue Sky Hospitality corporate office.
- Ensure property performance aligns with ownership goals and brand standards.
- Maintain positive relationships with IHG representatives and participate in required brand initiatives.
About You:
- Minimum 5 years of hotel management experience, including 2+ years as a General Manager.
- Experience with IHG brand hotels preferred.
- Proven leadership in managing hotel operations and delivering results.
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
